Prakash (Nagarjuna), a graduate and carefree youngster meets with an accident. He is diagnosed for an advanced stage of blood cancer. A depressed Prakash decides to seek solace in a hill resort. There he meets Geetha (Girija), a mischievous and naughty girl and daughter of a doctor (Vijaykumar). Prakash and Geetha try to outsmart each other and in due course fall in love. Prakash learns that Geetha is suffering from a congenital heart disease and decides to leave the hill resort upon her father’s request. This film was shot on exotic locales of Ooty by ace cinematographer, P C Sriram under the able supervision of popular director, Mani Rathnam with lilting songs scored by maestro Illayaraja.

S P Balasubramaniam mellifluously rendered all the songs in the Telugu version whereas Mano lent his voice for the Tamil version.
