That Ramgopal Varma has been a trend setter in film making in India since late Eighties is well known. One genre that has always intrigued Ramgopal Varma has been the Horror film.

The Indian Horror films have always been quintessentially loud and marked by lot of blood and gore, with lots of people in weird masks grimacing ever so often, the secluded Bungalow or the white saree clad woman trying to induce fear. But Varma's films have been a departure from this formula. They are scary in real sense.
