A stale tale, the story is set on the backdrop of a village and here lives Vimala (urvashy) who is given an almost crumbling Maharaja Talkies from her mother as property. Vimala along with her three sisters (Ganga, Yamuna and Unnimaya) do their best to revive the theatre and keep it running. However, they have trouble in the form of the local rich man Moorkhanparambil Pappachan (vijayaraghavan). He is keen on shutting down the theatre and keeps doing all sorts of cheap tricks. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.
