Rangam fame, Jiiva is a director'rs delight. He gives a top-notch performance in this movie and has proved that he can shoulder a complete movie given a taut script. He has quietly surrendered himself to the director and got character's soul into his body. And what you see is a power-packed performance!  And what is more interesting is, Jiiva has found a knack of figuring out what kind of roles will suit him and his selection so far has been almost flawless.

Anjali (Journey Fame), the latest to join the heroine bandwagon is a breath of fresh air. Her calm face, sans make-up looks up at you with frankness and honesty -- the perfect foil toJiiva's plethora of emotions. Anjali too performs excellently well in the film. Her girl-next-door image helps viewers to connect with the movie.

Jiiva’s, "Dare" is a daringly different film, which gets into the mind of a psychopath and explores it. An ordinary young man, frustrated by his circumstances and futility of his job, slowly loses his mental balance and becomes a psychopath, and when he gets redeemed it’s too late. Yuvan Shankar Raja's music perfectly accompanies the tones of the movie: sharp and tangy.

Awards For Dare Movie:
Filmfare Best Female Debut (South) - Anjali
Film Critics' Best Writer Award - Ram
Reliance Mobile Vijay Award for Best Actor Debut (Female) - Anjali
Reliance Mobile Vijay Award for Best Editor - A. Sreekar Prasad

Cameraman Kathir rocks!!! Especially in the shot where the junior Prabhakar and junior Anjali gets into the hill-top - truly awesome!!!  And the movie certainly belongs to the director. He seems like a veteran throughout the movie and way in which he has tried to provide explanation for each and every action of the protagonist – that too in a first person narrative mode is commendable.

Among films with routine genre, Dare is a movie with different storyline. A disturbing movie made in a classic way. The film is high-brow, but if you are looking for a fresh off-kilter cinematic experience, then you don’t want to miss Dare.
