An alright tale, the story is set on the backdrop of Thrissur and here lives Thiruvambady Mathan (jagathy) who is into the elephant business and he is supported by his son Thiruvambady Thampan (jayaram). Despite the resistance from the family, the father-son duo are on one point and they are very successful. On the other hand, Thampan is in love with Anjali (haripriya), daughter of a temple priest (sree raman) and though many oppose, he kidnaps her and gets married. The story takes a turn when a situation leads Thampan to clash with the local MLA (kishore) and kill his brother. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

The director has come up with a good storyline and while the presentation was appealing, the narrative was good in parts. The dialogues were okay, the script was regular and the screenplay was average. Background score was good but the songs were disappointing. Cinematography was good in capturing the locales and moods. Editing was not upto the mark. Costumes were natural while the art department was neat. Jayaram did well in humour scenes but not during the emotional scenes, Haripriya has got that natural sex appeal and she gives a ‘turn on’ factor. Jagathy was good. Nedumudi Venu was natural, Sree Raman was standard. But the real showstealer was Kishore with his intense performance. The others were alright.
