Suriya has become famous among the Telugu audiences with his film Gajini. The successful Tamil film Nanda is dubbed into Telugu as Akrosam. Moreover, Laila who paired up with him had also made a comeback into the Telugu films with 'Mr and Mrs Sailaja Krishnamurthy' . Bala, the director who directed 'Sivaputrudu' of Suriya, also a dubbed film again paired up with him for this flick.

Suriya's performance reminds the audiences of Gajini. This film also has similar looks and performance, though it has nothing to do with the short-time memory loss kind of disease.
