Touted to the first of its kind of psychological thrillers in Mollywood, 'Vettah' had a lot of expectations riding on it. The movie sure is a new take on the thriller genre. What works in favour of the movie are the crisp performances of the lead actors and an even crispier editing which reduces the overall length of the movie to around 2 hours. The visual narrative is gripping and the director's class is evident.'Vettah' is an engaging watch in the thriller mode and can be enjoyed for its novelty in treatment and narration.

Two members of the Indian Police Service (IPS), Commissioner Sreebala (Manju Warrier) and Assistant Commissioner Xylex Abraham (Indrajith), investigate the disappearance of the actress Uma Sathyamoorthi. Sreebala and Xylex arrest Melvin (Kunchacko Boban) - who as it turns out, is a classmate of Uma - as the prime suspect. During the interrogation, Melvin reveals that he had murdered his wife Sherin and covered it up as a drug-induced suicide in order to take revenge on her for her infidelity. Uma was kidnapped, because the guy who she was with was the one who had been having an affair with Sherin. However, Melvin refuses to point out where he dumped their bodies., much to the chagrin of the cops.
