Rannvijay Rana (Rajinikanth) is the general of the army of the kingdom of Kalingapuri. Rannvijay is in love with the daughter of the King of Kottaipatanam (Deepika Padukone). Rannvijay also has to avenge the death of his father who was killed by his own king Mahendra (Jackie Shroff).
