Yathra Chodikkathe (Malayalam)

The movie is directed by Aneesh Varma and scripted by Haripad Harilal, both new to their respective craft. And it shows in on the screen too.The only USP of the movie was the presence of Late Kalabhavan Mani in the cast, as the protagonist. This is the last movie he completed before he left us without saying adieu. Relevant subject made into a high drama steeped with a high of emotion, Yathra Chodikkathe is a movie which the Kalabhavan Mani fans can enjoy and reminisce his acting skills.

The story follows the Kuttanad couple Balan (Mani) and Indira (Reena Basheer), who sends off their only daughter to the big bad city, Ernakulam to pursue her college education. Danger lurks around as the male students who have an eye on the innocent and pretty girl from Kuttanad and one of them succeeds to capture her attention. He doesn’t waste time to set the trap in the form of a mobile phone, gifted as a gesture of his love – or so she believes. What happens later is the movie, with much aplomb and deliberation
