Kamal is an unemployed graduate who, in spite of his modest surroundings, fantasizes about wealth. A rich man, Khakhar, is staying at a hotel nearby. Prone to drinking and racing he adores his wife but does not realise that his wife is attracted to his closest friend Pratap. One night Kamal sees Khakhar lying in a drunken state on a lonely pavement, sees the hotel key in his pocket, and is struck with an idea.
Kamal carries Khakhar to his own home, gags him, ties his legs to the cot, locks his room and leaves him there. Entering the Pushpak hotel with Khakhar's keys he proceeds to enjoy the luxuries. However he conscientiously returns everyday to his room, feeds Khakhar, does all the services and leaves him in a drunken state.
Staying at the hotel is a performing magician and his pretty daughter Amala. The two fall in love as two young people are wont to do. But even paradise is not perfect. Kamal soon finds himself being followed by a contract killer.
