Mirugam deals with the story of a Iyanar, a man who displays rough feelings. Though his family tries to reform him, Iyanar does not change himself. Finally he faces a situation wherein he is forced to give up. His momentary decision to live or to die makes the story. Mirugam is based on Vairamuthu’s “Kallikattu Idhigasam”.

The film having the storyline of a hunky village man who later suffers from the dreadful disease was portrayed brilliantly which attained rave review from the directors who saw the film on the premiere show.
