A confusing tale, the story is set on five layers with each character having their backgrounds and travelling in the train that meets with bomb blast. Notable among them is Karthick (jayasuriya) an aspiring singer whose dream is to sing for A R Rahman. He gets his wish when a call comes from Chennai and he travels in the train. Meanwhile, a wrong call from him saves the life of a girl (anjali sabharwal) and she also decides to meet him on the same fateful day. Then there is Suhana (sabitha) who is running after the PF office to get her amount due so that she can send her father to Haj pilgrimage. There is also a young kid from a big family who is keen on having his grandfather for his birthday. Finally, there is the ATS chief Kedarnatah (mammootty) who is busy scouting terrorists. What fate has in store for each of them forms the rest of the story.
