'Oru Nunakkadha' has been directed by debutant Johnson Thankachan and features Tamil comedian Vivek in the lead role.

Following other Tamil actors like Sarath Kumar, Parthiban and others, Vivek too would be trying his luck in Malayalam films. Vivek plays a Sub Inspector in the film, with an intense desire to act in a movie. There is also Jagathy who plays a scriptwriter.

Apart from the Tamil star, there are also debutant actors like Piyoosh, Aneesh Menon and Asharaf. They play the roles of college friends, who are great film buffs as well, who badly want to make a Malayalam movie. The movie depicts the frantic efforts of the youngsters to make a logical thread into a decent movie, without paying much attention to the omens of film making.

Ashwathy, who is known more as as Alphonsamma is the heroine of the movie. She plays a character who has her real name itself, who suddenly gets a chance to make it big in films.
