Walk into any movie house playing Abhiram Suresh Unnithan s debut venture, 'Yakshi Faithfuly Yours', there is every chance that by the time you are done with this pedestrian stuff in the garb of a cinema, your faith in the upcoming breed of young directors will be dented. Hard to fathom that the makers are so naive as to assume that viewers are guinea pigs upon whom cinematic experiments of such hollowness can be thrust upon.

The rather curiously titled movie is based on a tale that has been told umpteen times in different hues by many other accomplished directors. Based on Kottarathil Sankunni's, 'Aitihyamala'. The movie tries to delve deep into the old world of bewitching blood thirsty seductresses whose tales are found galore in the repertoire of our grandmothers and folk tales. The film flits between past and present. The attempts to evoke fear and shock in the viewers are handled amateurishly and it is not a surprise given the fact the script is so poorly conceived and is replete with harebrained loopholes. At a time when new generation movies are ruling roost, the makers might have assumed that there is a space for a movie belonging to the horror genre. But it is as yawning as hearing a war veteran, who rides an old hobby horse to death by narrating those tales of heroism narrated a million times beforehand.

A group of youngsters who have nothing else to do, think that it will be worthwhile if they dabble into the world of Documentary film making. One among them who could be called the protagonist, is hell bent to ensure that it is based on the tale of his ancient ancestral house which is abound with eerie tales of a blood thirsty evil seductress. The youngster is keen to dig deep into the life of his grandfather who is believed to have fallen prey to the evil seductress who feasted on the blood of handsome young lads in that land who are unmarried and virgin. His buddies, who include his girl friend, try their level best to persuade him not to wade into such dangerous waters as there are numerous other subjects for their camera to focus upon to quench their insatiable appetite to contribute to the world of documentary film making!!!!

Avanthika who plays the part of the Yakshi who has to be called the female protagonist, looks gorgeous but the role doesn't offer her anything to perform at all except loiter around in white saree. It is a cliche that has been done to death million times, in which a Yakshi clad in transparent white saree with the accompaniment of rain, sings a song to attract the handsome protagonist.
