Tupaki (Telugu)
Manufacturer Info
Thanks to A.R. Murugadoss, Vijay steps into a new avatar that comes as a welcome surprise for his fans and critics alike.  "Thupaki" is definitely one of the best Telugu action-thriller of recent times. The film is tightly woven together by a crisp screenplay that will keep you hooked to your seats.
Coming back to our main man Vijay, he looks ever youthful and the V shape that he so painstakingly maintains looks even more tight and muscular in Thupaki. He plays his role with lot of conviction, and is terrific in the investigative scenes. His prowess at dance and fights is well-known and Murugadoss has packaged and presented the movie perfectly in sync with Vijay’s skills at commercial cinema.
The pre-interval scenes with the twelve sleeper cells and the fight scenes with a sniffer dog in tow in the second half are a royal treat for Vijay fanatics. Vidyut Jamwal looks a million bucks with his long locks, stubble and macho physique. He is a nice matchup for the invincible hero.
Harris Jayaraj’s songs are a raging hit and this is a nice score on the whole from Harris.  The music that repeats while Vidyut makes an appearance on screen is pulsating.
The film has some of the best National Award-winning technicians such as Thota Tharani, Sreekar Prasad and Santosh Sivan, who've certainly taken the film to a level where no other Telugu film of the recent past managed to reach.
In essence, "Thupaki" has the energy of Vijay and intellect of A.R. Murugadoss. Thupaki turned out to be a hugely profitable venture for the makers and a rewarding experience for the audience. The last dialog, about Army men living in tough conditions for 11 months based on the memories of their short vacation, makes Thuppakki’s intentions of being an ode to the Army, a commendable one.
On the whole, Thupaki is one film which has everything going right for it. A stylish Vijay, some exceptional thrilling moments and edge of the seat action makes this film surely worth a watch. Finally, one can say that yet another Tamil hero has successfully managed to capture the hearts of Telugu audience.
