Rukmini (Meera Jasmine) belongs to an upper middle class family. As she has problems in her horoscope, it was very difficult for her to get a bridegroom. Finally her marriage is fixed. On the day before her marriage she eloped with Karthikeyan (Riyaz Khan), who is a dependent of their family. This ended all her relations with her family. Karthikeyan’s aim is to get hold of the share of Rukmini. When he realizes that he will not get anything from her family, he starts to physically torture Rukmini. Karthikeyan eloped with Devu, who works with him in the coir factory. Rukmini is then pregnant with her third child and she starts working in the coir factory where her husband worked to look after her children.
