The objective of the theme is to show how a boy and a girl, branded as lovers, get onto water tank and threaten to commit suicide if they are forced to marry. Hema and Krishna study in the same college. Their friendship is mistaken to be love. Krishna's girl Priya is waiting in the wings to marry him. Rajeev Kanakala tries to corner Hema, failing which he sticks posters pairing Hema and Krishna as lovers.President suggests marriage of Krishna with Hema as final solution. But Hema and Krishna threaten to die if their parents insist and then get on to a water tank. The marriage is called off and Krishna is paired with his Priya. !
